Job Description

Overview

  • Lead tax advisory and compliance services for government contractors under FAR, CAS, and federal procurement regulations.
  • Provide strategic tax expertise for indirect rate structures, contract types, and compliance risks.
  • Advise on M&A tax diligence, transaction structuring, and post-deal integration for GovCon clients.
  • Navigate international tax matters for overseas contracting, foreign subsidiaries, and expatriate payroll.
  • Mentor and lead a team of tax professionals, fostering growth and expertise.
  • Drive business development and thought leadership within the GovCon tax practice.
  • Collaborate with C-suite executives to deliver tailored tax solutions and strategies.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Serve as primary tax advisor for government contractors, ensuring compliance and strategic planning.
  • Lead federal and state income tax compliance for diverse entity structures.
  • Advise on FAR cost principles, allowable expenses, and indirect rate impacts.
  • Support clients during IRS examinations, DCAA audits, and state audit defenses.
  • Provide expertise on R&D credits, funded research limitations, and GovCon-specific tax matters.
  • Lead tax diligence and structuring for M&A transactions in the GovCon sector.
  • Advise on international tax issues, including GILTI, Subpart F, and foreign tax credits.
  • Expand the GovCon tax practice and mentor senior managers and staff.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; CPA required, MST or JD/LLM preferred.
  • 12–20+ years of progressive tax experience, with significant GovCon exposure.
  • Demonstrated expertise in FAR, CAS, indirect rate structures, and audit environments.
  • Proven ability to originate and grow client relationships in the GovCon sector.
  • Strong leadership presence and communication skills to engage with C-suite executives.
  • Experience in M&A tax diligence, structuring, and post-deal integration.
  • Knowledge of international tax regulations for overseas contracting and foreign subsidiaries.
  • Ability to mentor and lead a team, fostering professional growth and expertise.
