Overview
- Lead and elevate design quality across the studio, ensuring consistency, rigor, and innovation in all design outcomes.
- Build strong, trusted relationships with clients by understanding their business objectives, culture, and performance goals.
- Direct and present design concepts for key projects, articulating ideas through storytelling and compelling visual communication.
- Oversee the development of space plans, design concepts, documentation, and furniture packages for priority projects.
- Collaborate closely with Project Managers and technical leaders to ensure design intent and deliverables align with client goals.
- Mentor and develop designers at all levels, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Champion the integration of emerging technologies to enhance creativity, efficiency, and design insight.
- Maintain strong industry and client relationships while identifying opportunities for business development and thought leadership.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Lead training initiatives, design reviews, and team-building efforts supporting design standards and best practices.
- Guide teams in using AI for research, visualization, and iterative design exploration.
- Collaborate with firm leadership to evaluate and implement digital tools improving design quality and coordination.
- Encourage adaptability around new technologies and data-driven design practices.
- Partner with design and marketing teams to guide project photography and award submissions.
- Foster collaboration across studios and disciplines to align with firmwide standards and objectives.
- Ensure compliance with building systems, architectural detailing, codes, and ADA requirements.
- Develop and implement strategies for integrating contract furnishings, finishes, and equipment effectively.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Architecture or Interior Design from an accredited program.
- Licensed Architect and/or Interior Designer preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in workplace design and multidisciplinary team leadership.
- Advanced expertise in concept development, space planning, and 3D visualization.
- Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of AI-assisted design tools and their responsible application.
- Exceptional storytelling, presentation, and client engagement skills.
- Deep understanding of all design phases, from concept through contract administration.
