Job Description

Overview

  • Provide exceptional nursing care in labor and delivery at a critical access hospital.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in labor and delivery.
  • Provide antepartum, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care to patients.
  • Perform newborn assessments and ensure proper care and monitoring.
  • Maintain sterile techniques and knowledge of sterile field procedures.
  • Educate patients and families on care plans and health practices.
  • Collaborate with ancillary personnel to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
  • Participate in hospital-required vaccinations and competency programs.
  • Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Job Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse license in New Mexico.
  • Associate of Science in Nursing or equivalent degree.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; ACLS preferred.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification within 9 months.
  • Completion of fetal monitoring course within 6 months.
  • Competency in newborn care, sterile techniques, and labor management.
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience; 2 years preferred.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screenings and meet physical requirements.
