Job Description

Overview

  • Provide comprehensive pediatric care to children from infancy through adolescence in a community-based health center.
  • Focus on preventive care, family education, and promoting overall wellness for patients.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated and patient-centered care delivery.
  • Utilize electronic health records (EHR) to maintain accurate and timely documentation.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and public health programs.
  • Engage with families to provide counseling on nutrition, growth, and developmental milestones.
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic illnesses in pediatric patients effectively.
  • Contribute to the health center's mission by delivering compassionate and culturally sensitive care.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct routine checkups, immunizations, and developmental screenings for pediatric patients.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic pediatric conditions effectively.
  • Provide counseling to families on nutrition, growth, and wellness topics.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care delivery.
  • Maintain detailed and timely patient records using electronic health systems.
  • Participate in public health initiatives and quality improvement programs.
  • Engage in professional development and training opportunities as required.
  • Provide culturally sensitive care, with a preference for bilingual Creole-speaking candidates.

Job Requirements

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
  • Board certification in Pediatrics.
  • Current New York State medical license or eligibility for licensure.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in community health or outpatient pediatrics.
  • Preferred 4 years of experience in pediatric care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Bilingual Creole/English candidates strongly preferred.
