Job Description

Overview

  • Provide direct patient care, including obtaining vital signs, administering medications/vaccines, and performing diagnostic tests.
  • Collaborate with physicians and advanced practice providers for comprehensive patient care.
  • Document patient information in electronic medical records accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain examination rooms and sterilize medical equipment to ensure a safe environment.
  • Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection adhering to standard protocols.
  • Work under minimal supervision, interpreting policies and prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Engage in patient-facing activities as part of the organization's Tuberculosis screening program.
  • Participate in local travel as required, with mileage reimbursement provided.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Perform clinical tasks such as vital sign measurements, medication administration, and diagnostic screenings.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Ensure accurate documentation in electronic medical records systems.
  • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of examination rooms and medical equipment.
  • Conduct phlebotomy and specimen collection following established procedures.
  • Adhere to organizational policies and procedures while exercising independent discretion.
  • Participate in patient-facing programs, including Tuberculosis screening.
  • Travel locally as required, ensuring compliance with reimbursement policies.

Job Requirements

  • Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree or equivalent educational background.
  • Completion of Medical Assistant training program or certification as a Registered Medical Assistant.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience, with 2 years preferred.
  • CPR certification required.
  • Experience in medication/vaccine administration and phlebotomy preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Value-Based Care, HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work on-site, Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
