Job Description
Overview
- Provide direct patient care, including obtaining vital signs, administering medications/vaccines, and performing diagnostic tests.
- Collaborate with physicians and advanced practice providers for comprehensive patient care.
- Document patient information in electronic medical records accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain examination rooms and sterilize medical equipment to ensure a safe environment.
- Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection adhering to standard protocols.
- Work under minimal supervision, interpreting policies and prioritizing tasks effectively.
- Engage in patient-facing activities as part of the organization's Tuberculosis screening program.
- Participate in local travel as required, with mileage reimbursement provided.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Perform clinical tasks such as vital sign measurements, medication administration, and diagnostic screenings.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Ensure accurate documentation in electronic medical records systems.
- Maintain cleanliness and readiness of examination rooms and medical equipment.
- Conduct phlebotomy and specimen collection following established procedures.
- Adhere to organizational policies and procedures while exercising independent discretion.
- Participate in patient-facing programs, including Tuberculosis screening.
- Travel locally as required, ensuring compliance with reimbursement policies.
Job Requirements
- Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree or equivalent educational background.
- Completion of Medical Assistant training program or certification as a Registered Medical Assistant.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience, with 2 years preferred.
- CPR certification required.
- Experience in medication/vaccine administration and phlebotomy preferred.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is advantageous.
- Knowledge of Value-Based Care, HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience is a plus.
- Ability to work on-site, Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM.
