Job Description

Overview

  • Lead the Special Projects Group for a construction firm specializing in higher education projects.
  • Manage projects valued at $3-$8MM, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
  • Collaborate with clients and stakeholders to maintain strong relationships and achieve project goals.
  • Work on-site and remotely, balancing campus presence with office responsibilities.
  • Contribute to the growth of the organization, which has a reputation for excellence and innovation.
  • Oversee a portfolio of 15 projects, totaling $5MM annually.
  • Provide leadership in estimating, project management, and subcontractor coordination.
  • Foster a collaborative and problem-solving work environment.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
  • Develop project scopes, solicit subcontractor bids, and oversee estimation processes.
  • Coordinate with superintendents and other team members to ensure project success.
  • Maintain client relationships through regular campus visits and effective communication.
  • Implement strategies to optimize project profitability and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to team members, fostering professional growth.
  • Prepare and present progress reports to stakeholders and management.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Construction Management or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction project management; 8 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in estimating, project planning, and subcontractor coordination.
  • Strong client-facing skills and ability to manage relationships effectively.
  • Experience with hybrid work environments, balancing on-site and remote responsibilities.
  • Excellent problem-solving and collaboration skills.
