- Lead the U.S. epidemiology and real-world evidence (RWE) strategy across therapeutic areas, ensuring alignment with global objectives.
- Integrate RWE into drug development, regulatory, and payer strategies, driving innovation and methodological excellence.
- Represent the organization externally with regulators, payers, and scientific societies to influence industry standards.
- Direct complex vendor relationships and database investments to support organizational goals.
- Mentor and manage U.S.-based directors and consultants, fostering professional growth and development.
- Advance innovation in epidemiology and RWE methodologies, enhancing organizational capabilities.
- Build functional processes, systems, and pipelines to support strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Define and implement epidemiology and RWE strategies across therapeutic areas, focusing on U.S. execution.
- Serve as a methodological authority on epidemiologic methods, database strategy, and observational research designs.
- Direct large-scale budgets, including database investments and vendor partnerships.
- Provide expert input into organizational decisions, including trial design and regulatory evidence packages.
- Represent the organization externally at regulatory meetings, payer negotiations, and scientific societies.
- Lead innovation initiatives to advance epidemiology methodologies and data capabilities.
- Develop and implement functional standards, SOPs, and systems to enhance operational efficiency.
Job Requirements
- PhD in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, or related field; or MD/PharmD with advanced epidemiology training.
- Minimum 12 years of experience in pharma/biotech, leading global RWE programs.
- Expertise in epidemiologic methods, database strategy, and observational research designs.
- Proven record of regulatory engagement, payer influence, and external thought leadership.
- Experience managing scientific staff, with strong mentoring and leadership skills.
- Executive presence and excellent communication skills for diverse audiences.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, approximately 10-15% annually.
