Overview
- Provide comprehensive dental hygiene services under the supervision of a licensed dentist in a community health setting.
- Perform oral prophylaxis, scaling, root planning, and polishing to ensure optimal oral health for patients.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and denture care.
- Maintain accurate dental treatment charts and records using Dentrix software.
- Conduct health screenings and oral examinations to identify dental conditions and report findings to the dentist.
- Expose and process dental radiographs, interpret results, and alert the dentist to observations.
- Work collaboratively with the dental team to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Utilize considerable independent judgment to provide appropriate dental services.
Key Responsibilities & Duties

- Examine patients' mouths to identify dental issues such as periodontal disease or decay.
- Educate patients on maintaining oral health and proper hygiene techniques.

Job Requirements
- Associate’s degree in dental hygiene is required.
- Minimum of two years of experience as a Dental Hygienist is preferred.
- Proficiency in Dentrix dental electronic medical record software is preferred.
- Demonstrated interpersonal, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Interest in employment within a community health center setting.
- Bi-lingual Spanish proficiency is preferred.
- Ability to work on-site during standard business hours with occasional weekends.
