Job Description

Overview

  • Perform radiographic procedures under the direction of a Radiologist and Supervisor, ensuring high-quality diagnostic imaging.
  • Apply independent judgment and initiative in utilizing ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis.
  • Provide care across various age groups, from newborns to the elderly.
  • Maintain adherence to infection control and safety practices within the radiology department.
  • Operate radiographic equipment and produce quality images within established protocols.
  • Educate patients on procedures and document relevant information in patient records.
  • Participate in training new staff and attending departmental meetings.
  • Perform non-technical duties such as stocking rooms and transporting patients as needed.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Operate radiographic equipment according to specifications and produce diagnostic-quality radiographs.
  • Adhere to radiation safety practices, including coning, shielding, and film badge monitoring.
  • Maintain patient records and ensure compliance with department procedures.
  • Assess patients appropriately based on the exam ordered and document relevant information.
  • Utilize Radiology Information System (RIS) accurately and completely for documentation.
  • Perform non-technical duties such as stocking rooms and cleaning equipment.
  • Participate in training new staff and attending departmental meetings.
  • Perform special projects and other duties as assigned by the department.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Radiologic Technology or related field.
  • ARRT Registry or eligibility with proof of registered status within one year.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office products and radiology systems.
  • Competence in performing quality radiographic procedures independently.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective patient and team interactions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and independently.
  • Preferred one year of experience in radiologic technology.
  • Commitment to adhering to infection control and safety practices.
