Job Description

Overview

  • The Senior Accountant role involves managing property and corporate accounting activities with precision and timeliness.
  • Collaborate with the Controller to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
  • Utilize advanced accounting systems to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
  • Supervise accounts payable operations to ensure timely and accurate processing.
  • Analyze and report on real estate tax assessments and charges effectively.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot accounting and revenue management systems for optimal performance.
  • Prepare detailed work papers and reconcile accounts during month-end closing processes.
  • Contribute to a secure and balanced work environment promoting professional growth.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Reconcile bank accounts and ensure proper application of deposited funds.
  • Analyze and bill commercial tenants for recoveries in a timely manner.
  • Manage intercompany transactions and achieve accurate financial cut-offs.
  • Supervise accounts payable processes, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Create vendor accounts and manage insurance certificates from vendors.
  • Allocate credit card charges and ensure timely reimbursements monthly.
  • Analyze real estate tax assessments and ensure timely payment postings.
  • Maintain and resolve issues within accounting and revenue management systems.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of direct accounting experience; 5 years preferred.
  • Proven expertise with MRI General Ledger and Accounts Payable systems.
  • Experience with Nexus accounts payable workflow management software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
  • Hands-on approach with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ability to analyze and report on financial data efficiently.
