Overview
- Lead and oversee Women's Services department operations, ensuring alignment with organizational mission and nursing philosophy.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary patient care, emphasizing safety and quality outcomes.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures supporting service provision and patient care.
- Promote service line growth and quality improvement initiatives within Women's Services.
- Ensure compliance with hospital and corporate policies while managing resources effectively.
- Foster teamwork and customer satisfaction within the department.
- Integrate departmental services into the organization's overall care delivery plan.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Coordinate department services with hospital functions, emphasizing patient safety.
- Assess and improve departmental performance through quality control programs.
- Provide orientation, in-service training, and continuing education for staff development.
- Determine qualifications and competence of personnel, ensuring sufficient staffing levels.
- Participate in community health promotion and educational activities.
- Engage in nursing research and professional practice development initiatives.
- Collaborate on unit and hospital committees, special projects, and performance improvement activities.
- Support business development and outreach efforts for Women's Services.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in nursing or related field preferred.
- Active Texas State RN License or compact license; National Specialty Certification required.
- Minimum of 10 years recent nursing experience in Women's Services and 5 years in leadership roles.
- Proven ability to develop and implement policies and procedures effectively.
- Experience with quality control programs and performance improvement initiatives.
- Strong communication and organizational skills to manage departmental operations.
- Commitment to community health promotion and educational involvement.
- Proficiency in interdisciplinary patient care coordination and resource management.
