Job Description

Overview

  • Lead and oversee Women's Services department operations, ensuring alignment with organizational mission and nursing philosophy.
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary patient care, emphasizing safety and quality outcomes.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures supporting service provision and patient care.
  • Promote service line growth and quality improvement initiatives within Women's Services.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital and corporate policies while managing resources effectively.
  • Foster teamwork and customer satisfaction within the department.
  • Integrate departmental services into the organization's overall care delivery plan.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Coordinate department services with hospital functions, emphasizing patient safety.
  • Assess and improve departmental performance through quality control programs.
  • Provide orientation, in-service training, and continuing education for staff development.
  • Determine qualifications and competence of personnel, ensuring sufficient staffing levels.
  • Participate in community health promotion and educational activities.
  • Engage in nursing research and professional practice development initiatives.
  • Collaborate on unit and hospital committees, special projects, and performance improvement activities.
  • Support business development and outreach efforts for Women's Services.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master's degree in nursing or related field preferred.
  • Active Texas State RN License or compact license; National Specialty Certification required.
  • Minimum of 10 years recent nursing experience in Women's Services and 5 years in leadership roles.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement policies and procedures effectively.
  • Experience with quality control programs and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills to manage departmental operations.
  • Commitment to community health promotion and educational involvement.
  • Proficiency in interdisciplinary patient care coordination and resource management.
