Job Description

Overview

  • Lead fiduciary accounting operations, ensuring compliance and excellence in client services.
  • Collaborate with a high-performing team to deliver accurate and timely fiduciary accountings.
  • Provide strategic guidance and technical expertise in fiduciary and court accounting practices.
  • Foster strong client relationships with trustees, attorneys, and financial institutions.
  • Ensure compliance with state-specific fiduciary laws and accounting principles.
  • Develop and implement operational efficiencies to enhance engagement profitability.
  • Support staff development and contribute to a collaborative team culture.
  • Maintain technical expertise through self-study and continuing education.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Review complex trust and estate fiduciary accountings for accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage engagement teams to ensure efficient delivery of client work products.
  • Interpret trust agreements and estate planning documents for fiduciary accounting.
  • Oversee billing, collections, and engagement economics for profitability.
  • Provide estimates for new engagements and manage onboarding processes.
  • Supervise and coach staff, fostering a flexible and inclusive work environment.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to strengthen service line relationships.
  • Monitor compliance with firm processes, procedures, and technology initiatives.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required.
  • Minimum of 6 years of fiduciary accounting experience; 10 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in fiduciary accounting principles and applicable state laws.
  • Experience with GEMS and FAS software, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with proven team management experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of IRS Forms 706, 1041, and K-1s.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client engagements and complex fiduciary matters.
