Overview
- Provide specialized wound care services for patients in skilled nursing facilities.
- Prescribe medications, including controlled substances, adhering to state regulations.

- Diagnose and treat various wound types, including diabetic and arterial wounds.

Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Conduct thorough assessments and provide wound care for long-term care patients.
- Order diagnostic tests and follow up on treatments as necessary.
- Educate patients and caregivers on wound care management and prevention.
- Utilize wound vacs and other pressure-relieving devices effectively.
- Stage pressure injuries according to established guidelines.
- Prescribe advanced wound care products tailored to patient needs.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
Job Requirements
- Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) with a clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.
- Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Ohio.
- Experience in wound care, including chronic and infected wounds.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, and venous wounds.
- Familiarity with advanced wound care products and techniques.
- Comfortable using electronic medical record systems.
- Strong preference for wound care certification or willingness to obtain certification.
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary care team.
