Job Description

Overview

  • Lead strategic and operational management of perioperative services, ensuring clinical excellence and patient-centered care.
  • Oversee surgical departments, including Ambulatory Surgery, PACU, Robotic Surgery, and Cardiovascular Surgery.
  • Collaborate with medical staff and hospital leadership to enhance surgical service quality and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and promote safety in surgical interventions.
  • Develop strategic initiatives for growth, efficiency, and quality improvement in surgical services.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the surgical team.
  • Manage surgical personnel, resources, and workflows to ensure optimal operations.
  • Promote patient-centered care and operational excellence throughout the surgical continuum.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Provide leadership for surgical departments, including inpatient and outpatient operating rooms and ancillary services.
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance surgical services and support organizational growth.
  • Oversee staffing, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation for surgical operations.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with surgeons and nursing staff to monitor quality improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor KPIs, patient outcomes, and staff performance to identify improvement areas.
  • Lead recruitment, retention, training, and professional development of surgical staff.
  • Serve as a liaison between surgical services and executive leadership.
  • Manage capital planning for surgical equipment and technology investments.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; advanced certifications preferred.
  • Current, unrestricted California RN license and BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications.
  • Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years supervisory/management experience in surgical nursing.
  • Proven expertise in surgical services operations and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategic initiatives for surgical services.
  • Ability to manage budgets, resources, and personnel effectively.
  • Commitment to fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.
