Overview
- Provide medical support to healthcare providers and assist in clinical activities under the supervision of the Nurse Manager.
- Prepare patient summary sheets and charts for daily clinic operations ensuring accuracy and organization.
- Maintain exam rooms by restocking supplies, cleaning, and ensuring readiness for patient encounters.
- Call patients from the lobby to exam rooms and obtain chief complaints for efficient consultations.
- Perform vital sign measurements and document findings in electronic medical records (EMR).
- Assist with patient care tasks as directed by medical providers or Nurse Manager.
- Ensure adherence to universal precautions in all clinical activities to maintain safety standards.
- Perform phlebotomy procedures as required to support patient care.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Organize and prepare patient charts and summary sheets for daily clinic operations.
- Maintain exam room cleanliness and readiness, including supply restocking.
- Escort patients to exam rooms and document their chief complaints.
- Measure and record vital signs in EMR systems accurately and efficiently.
- Assist medical providers in patient care tasks and procedures.
- Perform phlebotomy and other clinical tasks as needed to support patient care.
- Adhere to universal precautions and safety protocols in all clinical activities.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure efficient clinic operations.
Job Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant certification mandatory.
- Minimum of 1 year of healthcare experience preferred; 2 years desirable.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and computer literacy.
- Strong clinical skills with experience in phlebotomy and patient care tasks.
- Ability to communicate effectively and maintain professionalism in patient interactions.
- Bilingual capabilities preferred to enhance patient communication.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional Saturdays.
