Job Description

Overview

  • Lead mechanical engineering projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements in a collaborative environment.
  • Provide technical guidance to teams, fostering professional growth and maintaining project quality.
  • Develop and manage relationships with clients, vendors, and contractors to achieve project goals.
  • Prepare project reports, feasibility studies, and cost estimates to support decision-making.
  • Utilize AutoCAD and Revit for construction document development and design coordination.
  • Conduct energy analysis and load calculations using industry-standard software.
  • Participate in meetings across all project phases, ensuring alignment with objectives.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and budgeting for engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Serve as engineering project manager, directing teams and ensuring timely deliverables.
  • Survey job sites to document existing conditions and prepare field memos.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams throughout design and construction phases.
  • Oversee construction administration processes, ensuring project compliance and quality.
  • Develop construction documents and technical specifications using AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Provide mentorship and leadership to junior staff, fostering skill development.
  • Ensure adherence to codes, standards, and company policies in engineering operations.
  • Manage client relationships, addressing concerns and ensuring satisfaction.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; Licensed Professional Engineer preferred.
  • 15+ years of engineering experience, including 7+ years in team management.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and load calculation software like Trane Trace and Carrier HAP.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and public bidding procedures.
  • Experience with commercial, educational, and institutional projects.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively.
  • Competency in project budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
