Job Description

Overview

  • Serve as the Family Office Accountant for a private investment entity, managing fund accounting and financial operations.
  • Collaborate with investment professionals to ensure accurate accounting for private equity and private credit investments.
  • Work remotely with minimal in-office requirements, offering excellent work-life balance.
  • Oversee cash flow forecasting, capital calls, and distributions for investment portfolios.
  • Support the transition to SS&C systems, ensuring seamless accounting operations.
  • Manage external tax and audit processes, coordinating with CBIZ and auditors.
  • Perform light administrative tasks related to investment paperwork and documentation.
  • Contribute to the organization’s compliance as a registered investment advisor (RIA).

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage fund accounting for private equity and private credit investments, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate capital calls, distributions, and cash flow forecasting for investment portfolios.
  • Oversee the transition to SS&C systems, optimizing accounting processes.
  • Collaborate with external tax professionals and auditors to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Prepare and manage investment-related paperwork and administrative tasks.
  • Support the organization’s compliance as a registered investment advisor (RIA).
  • Provide insights and recommendations for improving financial operations and reporting.
  • Maintain effective communication with stakeholders regarding financial and investment matters.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in fund accounting; 15 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in capital calls, distributions, and cash flow forecasting.
  • Experience with Geneva accounting software is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with private equity and private credit investment operations.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing administrative tasks and investment documentation.
  • Ability to work remotely with minimal in-office requirements.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with stakeholders and external professionals.
