Job Description

Overview

  • Serve as a Senior Corporate Accountant in a leading energy firm, contributing to financial accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage lease accounting, payroll, and accrued liabilities ensuring adherence to US GAAP and ASC 842 standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance operational accounting processes and data integrity.
  • Participate in monthly close activities, preparing journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Support SOX-compliant control environment and assist with audit documentation.
  • Contribute to system enhancements and automation for accounting workflows.
  • Engage in special projects, including consolidations and system implementations.
  • Work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with opportunities for professional growth.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage lease schedules, journal entries, and reconciliations for finance and operating leases.
  • Prepare disclosures for financial statements and external reporting related to leases.
  • Track, record, and reconcile accrued expenses for various functions.
  • Support payroll accounting activities, including bonus accruals and compliance monitoring.
  • Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for monthly close activities.
  • Assist in maintaining SOX-compliant controls and audit-ready documentation.
  • Collaborate with FP&A on reporting insights and variance analysis.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives for accounting processes.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA preferred or in progress.
  • 3–6 years of accounting experience, including technical accounting and controllership.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and ASC 842 standards.
  • Experience with SOX compliance and ERP systems; Oracle Fusion preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to navigate fast-paced, cross-functional environments effectively.
  • Proficiency in lease accounting tools and payroll systems.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new topics and challenges.
