Job Description

As a Superintendent for my leading light industrial Top ENR design build client, you will be responsible for overseeing and directing daily operations at the jobsite for light industrial construction projects. This entails managing subcontractors and labor while ensuring adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and project specifications. Your primary focus will be to uphold our commitment to efficient, cost-effective construction practices while maintaining or improving project schedules.


  • Enforce safety policies and quality programs to achieve exceptional performance on safety audits, reflecting our steadfast dedication to safety as a top priority.
  • Supervise subcontractors, vendors, and labor, ensuring precise control over work accuracy and quality. This involves creating look-ahead schedules and implementing project schedule controls.
  • Identify and communicate any issues or deficiencies to the Project Manager, documenting on-site activities that may hinder progress or compliance with project requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager on change orders, miscellaneous purchases, and subcontract agreements, maintaining strict budgetary control for each work activity. Coordinate the receipt and inventory of Owner-supplied materials.
  • Assist in generating project status reports and provide regular updates and visual documentation. Submit comprehensive daily reports to the Project Manager.
  • Foster open communication and maintain positive relationships with the Owner's representative, coordinating relevant work activities and participating in project progress meetings to align with client expectations.

Requirements for Success:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of construction experience as a Superintendent, with a focus on distribution center projects.
  • Willingness to travel extensively and reside at the project site for extended periods, with bi-weekly travel home provided.
  • Proficiency in maintaining and following Critical Path project schedules.
  • Thorough understanding of project documents, blueprints, revisions, and specifications.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, with a drive for excellence and a commitment to achieving zero punch lists.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, multitasking with urgency while adhering to established guidelines.
  • Basic computer skills and a willingness to adopt new technologies for scheduling and reporting purposes.
