Overview

  • Lead payroll operations for a construction-focused organization, ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations.
  • Manage payroll processes for approximately 500 employees, including unionized workforce.
  • Oversee a team of 3-4 payroll professionals, fostering collaboration and efficiency.
  • Ensure accurate payroll processing using CMiC Construction Software or Sage Timberline.
  • Administer employee benefits and address related inquiries effectively.
  • Perform audits and generate reports to support compliance and decision-making.
  • Stay updated on tax regulations and labor laws to maintain organizational compliance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to optimize payroll systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations specific to the construction industry.
  • Administer employee benefits and handle related inquiries.
  • Oversee and optimize timekeeping systems to ensure accurate tracking of hours worked.
  • Utilize payroll software to process payroll accurately and efficiently.
  • Stay updated on tax regulations to ensure compliance and reporting accuracy.
  • Perform data entry and maintain payroll records to ensure accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Generate and analyze payroll reports to provide insights and support decision-making.
  • Conduct audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Lead and manage the payroll team, ensuring effective performance and development.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of payroll experience, preferably with labor unions and collective bargaining agreements.
  • Proficiency in CMiC Construction Software or Sage Timberline.
  • Strong reporting and auditing skills to ensure compliance and accuracy.
  • Experience in team management and leadership.
  • Extremely detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees regarding payroll-related inquiries.
  • Knowledge of tax regulations and payroll compliance standards.
  • Availability to work on-site during specified hours.
