Job Description

Overview

  • Support and drive cross-functional drug discovery programs from early discovery through candidate nomination and IND-enabling studies.
  • Independently manage one or more programs across multiple sites, ensuring scientific alignment and integrated timelines.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks while maintaining organized project documentation.
  • Collaborate with functional leads to develop mitigation strategies and maintain risk and issue logs.
  • Prepare program updates and governance materials for senior leadership to ensure alignment across teams.
  • Contribute to improvements in project management tools and processes for enhanced efficiency.
  • Operate effectively in a dynamic, science-driven environment to achieve project goals.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Lead cross-functional project teams spanning biology, medicinal chemistry, DMPK, toxicology, CMC, and translational sciences.
  • Develop and maintain integrated program timelines, monitoring progress to plan and budget.
  • Define and track key milestones, including candidate nomination and IND-enabling activities.
  • Facilitate effective team meetings and document clear decisions and action items.
  • Proactively identify scientific and operational risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Prepare program updates and governance materials for senior leadership.
  • Ensure alignment across internal teams and external partners through clear communication.
  • Support implementation of best practices across programs to enhance project management efficiency.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 4–8 years of experience in biotech, pharma, or related industry.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with a solid understanding of the drug discovery process.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, science-driven environment.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and integrated program timelines.
  • Proficiency in risk and issue management with clear escalation and mitigation strategies.
  • Familiarity with project management tools and processes for continuous improvement.
