Overview
- Support and drive cross-functional drug discovery programs from early discovery through candidate nomination and IND-enabling studies.
- Independently manage one or more programs across multiple sites, ensuring scientific alignment and integrated timelines.
- Proactively identify and mitigate risks while maintaining organized project documentation.
- Collaborate with functional leads to develop mitigation strategies and maintain risk and issue logs.
- Prepare program updates and governance materials for senior leadership to ensure alignment across teams.
- Contribute to improvements in project management tools and processes for enhanced efficiency.
- Operate effectively in a dynamic, science-driven environment to achieve project goals.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Lead cross-functional project teams spanning biology, medicinal chemistry, DMPK, toxicology, CMC, and translational sciences.
- Develop and maintain integrated program timelines, monitoring progress to plan and budget.
- Define and track key milestones, including candidate nomination and IND-enabling activities.
- Facilitate effective team meetings and document clear decisions and action items.
- Proactively identify scientific and operational risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Prepare program updates and governance materials for senior leadership.
- Ensure alignment across internal teams and external partners through clear communication.
- Support implementation of best practices across programs to enhance project management efficiency.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 4–8 years of experience in biotech, pharma, or related industry.
- Strong organizational and communication skills with a solid understanding of the drug discovery process.
- Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, science-driven environment.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams and integrated program timelines.
- Proficiency in risk and issue management with clear escalation and mitigation strategies.
- Familiarity with project management tools and processes for continuous improvement.
