Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Assist neurosurgeons in the operating room during spine and neurosurgical procedures.
- Perform inpatient rounding and manage neurosurgical patients effectively.
- Coordinate pre- and post-operative care plans for surgical patients.
- Collaborate with hospital staff and multidisciplinary teams for patient care.
- Ensure compliance with hospital protocols and standards during patient management.
- Participate in call coverage and surgical case management as required.
- Provide patient education and support regarding surgical procedures and recovery.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities and surgical outcomes.
Job Requirements
- Master of Science in Nursing with active New York Physician Assistant license.
- Minimum of 1 year experience, with preference for 3 years in neurosurgery or orthopedic spine.
- Proven surgical first-assist experience in neurosurgical or spine procedures.
- Strong collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams and hospital staff.
- Ability to manage inpatient rounding and patient care coordination effectively.
