Job Description

Overview

  • Provide billing and accounts payable support within a collaborative accounting team.
  • Ensure accurate and timely client billing using specialized accounting software.
  • Perform reconciliations, resolve discrepancies, and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders regarding billing matters.
  • Support electronic billing processes and ensure compliance with client requirements.
  • Assist with bank reconciliations and other accounting tasks as needed.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives within the billing function.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet deadlines and maintain service quality.
  • Participate in special projects and provide backup support as required.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare and submit client invoices accurately and promptly using billing software.
  • Review billing data, make necessary adjustments, and ensure compliance with client requirements.
  • Manage electronic billing submissions and resolve errors for successful acceptance.
  • Research and reconcile discrepancies in billing information and communicate findings.
  • Generate and distribute financial reports as required by stakeholders.
  • Provide courteous and professional responses to billing inquiries from clients and team members.
  • Support bank reconciliations and other accounting functions as needed.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to firm policies and procedures in all billing activities.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in the legal industry.
  • Proficiency in billing software and familiarity with electronic billing systems.
  • Experience with Elite/3E or similar law firm billing software preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interactions.
  • Availability to work outside regular hours to meet deadlines when necessary.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for work-related purposes.
