Job Description

Overview

  • Lead engineering design and production for HVAC systems in diverse facilities, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to design standards.
  • Collaborate with project managers, internal teams, clients, and sub-consultants to achieve project objectives and maintain technical excellence.
  • Mentor and delegate tasks to engineers and designers, overseeing their work and providing guidance for professional growth.
  • Perform detailed field surveys, site visits, and construction administration support to ensure project success.
  • Develop engineering designs using AutoCAD and REVIT, and write specifications in Masterspec and drawing formats.
  • Conduct HVAC systems studies, building evaluations, and quality assurance reviews to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues, presenting improvement opportunities to the department director.
  • Participate in steering committees for technical topics, contributing to organizational development and innovation.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop high-level concept engineering designs and oversee production for diverse facility types including healthcare, retail, and industrial projects.
  • Ensure adherence to company design standards and maintain deliverable quality through QA/QC reviews.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, clients, and sub-consultants, attending project meetings and site visits during construction.
  • Mentor engineers and designers, delegating tasks and overseeing their production and design activities.
  • Perform HVAC systems studies, building evaluations, and field surveys to support project development.
  • Investigate and resolve technical problems, providing support to other engineering staff.
  • Develop engineering designs using AutoCAD and REVIT, and write specifications in Masterspec and drawing formats.
  • Advise project managers on technical aspects and contribute to steering committees for technical topics.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Architecture (B.Arch.) or equivalent engineering degree required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification is mandatory for this role.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in HVAC systems design and engineering production.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT for developing engineering designs and specifications.
  • Strong knowledge of mission-critical, healthcare, corporate interiors, retail, and industrial facility designs.
  • Experience in performing QA/QC reviews and construction administration support.
  • Ability to mentor and lead engineering teams, fostering professional growth and collaboration.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to investigate and resolve technical issues effectively.
