Job Description

Duties:

  • Assist with monthly closings and preparation of monthly financial statements.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly cost reports.
  • Assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Assist with the preparation and coordination of the audit process.
  • Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures.
  • Perform other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time quite often on short notice by the controller.
  • Responsible for areas in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory.
  • Inventory Control including item maintenance and physical counts.
  • Coordinating accounting functions and programs.
  • Preparing financial analyses and reports.
  • Preparing revenue projections and forecasting expenditures.
  • Assisting with preparing and monitoring budgets.
  • Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
  • Assisting with annual audit preparations.
  • Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
  • Preparing federal, state, local, and special tax returns.
  • Contributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
  • Performing other accounting duties and supporting junior staff as required or assigned.
  • Prepare and maintain ERP master files.
  • Prepare and maintain files as needed within the department.
  • Prepare journal entries.
  • Assists the controller in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to financial management, budget, accounting, and/or payroll.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, finance, or a similar major is required
  • A master’s degree is preferred
  • Must be a certified public accountant (CPA)
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in accounting/finance is required
