Job Description
Duties:
- Assist with monthly closings and preparation of monthly financial statements.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly cost reports.
- Assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Assist with the preparation and coordination of the audit process.
- Implement and maintain internal financial controls and procedures.
- Perform other accounting, financial, or administrative tasks as may be required from time to time quite often on short notice by the controller.
- Responsible for areas in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory.
- Inventory Control including item maintenance and physical counts.
- Coordinating accounting functions and programs.
- Preparing financial analyses and reports.
- Preparing revenue projections and forecasting expenditures.
- Assisting with preparing and monitoring budgets.
- Maintaining and reconciling balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
- Assisting with annual audit preparations.
- Investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of non-compliance.
- Preparing federal, state, local, and special tax returns.
- Contributing to the development of new or amended accounting systems, programs, and procedures.
- Performing other accounting duties and supporting junior staff as required or assigned.
- Prepare and maintain ERP master files.
- Prepare and maintain files as needed within the department.
- Prepare journal entries.
- Assists the controller in the development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to financial management, budget, accounting, and/or payroll.
Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, economics, finance, or a similar major is required
- A master’s degree is preferred
- Must be a certified public accountant (CPA)
- A minimum of five years’ experience in accounting/finance is required
