Job Description

Overview

  • Manage and oversee PACU operations, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and patient safety protocols.
  • Lead a team of nursing professionals, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
  • Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement in patient care delivery.
  • Coordinate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize healthcare services and outcomes.
  • Ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements within the PACU department.
  • Monitor and manage departmental budgets, resources, and workforce planning.
  • Provide mentorship and training to staff, supporting professional development and excellence.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for compliance and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervise daily operations of the PACU, ensuring optimal patient care and staff performance.
  • Implement evidence-based practices to enhance clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to address patient needs and improve service delivery.
  • Manage staffing schedules, assignments, and performance evaluations for PACU personnel.
  • Conduct regular audits and assessments to ensure compliance with healthcare standards.
  • Develop and execute training programs to enhance staff skills and knowledge.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with a minimum of five years in patient care delivery.
  • Registered Nurse License in Oregon and Basic Life Support certification required.
  • Minimum four years of leadership experience in healthcare settings.
  • Proficiency in ICU or PACU operations and patient safety protocols.
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare compliance, quality standards, and business process improvement.
  • Preferred certifications include PALS and ANCC in a related practice area.
  • Experience in change management, conflict resolution, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and healthcare information systems.
