Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Supervise and evaluate nursing care delivery to ensure adherence to protocols and standards.
- Monitor departmental performance metrics and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
- Coordinate staffing schedules to optimize patient care and operational efficiency.
- Facilitate effective communication among staff, patients, and families to ensure a positive care experience.
- Oversee compliance with trauma and emergency care standards, including certifications and training requirements.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address complex patient needs and improve care delivery.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance departmental operations.
- Support staff development through training programs and performance evaluations.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; advanced degree preferred or actively pursuing.
- Minimum of 3 years of acute care leadership experience in an Emergency Department setting.
- Active RN license in the state of practice or compact license; certifications in ACLS, TNCC, NIH Stroke Scale, ENPC or PALS required.
- Strong knowledge of trauma care standards and emergency department operations.
- Proven ability to lead and mentor nursing teams in high-pressure environments.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills to manage departmental functions effectively.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and evidence-based practice implementation.
