Job Description

Overview

  • Provide pharmaceutical care to adult and pediatric patients in a dynamic emergency department setting.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Respond to medical emergencies, delivering critical pharmaceutical interventions.
  • Support pediatric and neonatal intensive care units with specialized pharmaceutical expertise.
  • Engage in operational and distributive pharmacy services as required.
  • Serve as a preceptor for pharmacy residents and student pharmacists, fostering professional development.
  • Work primarily evening shifts, including weekdays and every third weekend.
  • Contribute to a culture of patient-focused, whole-person care and mutual respect.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Provide direct patient care in emergency medicine, ensuring accurate medication management.
  • Participate in medical emergencies, delivering timely pharmaceutical interventions.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient treatment plans.
  • Support pediatric and neonatal intensive care units with specialized pharmaceutical care.
  • Contribute to operational and distributive pharmacy services as needed.
  • Act as a mentor and preceptor for pharmacy residents and students.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Participate in continuous professional development and training initiatives.

Job Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Active Oregon Pharmacist License upon hire.
  • Minimum of 3 years of acute care hospital pharmacy experience.
  • Preferred completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency program.
  • Experience in emergency medicine and pediatric pharmacy is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills within multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work evening shifts and weekends as required.
