Job Description

Overview

  • Lead engineering strategy and execution for advanced defense hardware and software solutions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver reliable, high-performance systems.
  • Shape technical direction and oversee mechanical system design and integration.
  • Drive development processes and ensure alignment across engineering disciplines.
  • Support scaling of engineering workflows and organizational structure.
  • Coordinate with defense customers and partners to meet mission requirements.
  • Act as a strategic partner to the VP of Engineering, ensuring operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Provide senior guidance on mechanical system design and manufacturing processes.
  • Lead cross-functional coordination between engineering teams for seamless integration.
  • Drive execution of hardware development programs, tracking milestones and risks.
  • Establish and scale engineering processes and documentation workflows.
  • Support hiring strategies and team structuring for engineering departments.
  • Interface with defense customers and suppliers to align technical strategies.
  • Translate mission requirements into actionable engineering plans.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or hardware systems.
  • Proven expertise in mechanical system design and development processes.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams and managing complex projects.
  • Familiarity with defense-grade requirements and manufacturing scale-up.
  • Ability to obtain or hold a security clearance; U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Preferred experience in defense, aerospace, robotics, or advanced hardware systems.
