Job Description

Overview

  • Design and develop wire harness systems for electromechanical and robotic platforms, ensuring reliable communication and power delivery.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers to optimize harness routing and packaging within compact system architectures.
  • Support system-level integration across sensors, computing systems, actuators, and power electronics.
  • Create detailed wiring diagrams, pinout documentation, and electrical schematics for prototype and production systems.
  • Define connectors, shielding strategies, grounding methods, and cable routing solutions to meet performance requirements.
  • Assist in hardware bring-up, troubleshooting wiring issues, and diagnosing electrical problems during testing.
  • Perform testing and validation of electrical harnesses and integrated systems in field and lab environments.
  • Support manufacturing teams in harness builds, documentation, and quality verification processes.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Develop wire harness designs and cable assemblies for robotic and electromechanical systems.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineers to optimize harness routing and mechanical protection.
  • Create wiring diagrams, pinout documentation, and electrical schematics for system integration.
  • Define connectors, grounding methods, and cable routing solutions for performance and environmental compliance.
  • Troubleshoot wiring issues and diagnose electrical problems during hardware bring-up and testing.
  • Perform testing and validation of electrical harnesses and integrated systems.
  • Support manufacturing teams in harness builds and quality verification processes.
  • Ensure compliance with high-reliability manufacturing standards for wiring and electrical integration.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in wire harness design and electrical integration.
  • Proficiency in electrical design tools such as Zuken E3, Mentor Graphics, or Altium.
  • Experience integrating sensors, computer hardware, and power systems in complex systems.
  • Knowledge of MIL-STD practices and high-reliability manufacturing standards.
  • Hands-on experience with testing and troubleshooting electrical systems using lab equipment.
  • Familiarity with ruggedized systems designed for harsh operating environments.
  • Strong understanding of signal integrity, grounding, shielding, and power distribution practices.
