Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Plan, organize, and direct emergency department operations to align with organizational goals and patient care standards.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance departmental efficiency and service quality.
  • Supervise and mentor staff, fostering professional growth and ensuring optimal team performance.
  • Coordinate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive emergency care.
  • Monitor and manage departmental budgets, ensuring financial sustainability and resource optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and accreditation standards.
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Address operational and patient care challenges effectively, ensuring prompt resolution.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Current RN License in Texas or compact license.
  • Certifications: AHA or ARC BLS, ACLS, PALS within 6 months; TNCC within 18 months; ENPC or CEN within 18 months.
  • Minimum 2 years of management experience; 5 years preferred.
  • Proven expertise in emergency department operations and multidisciplinary team coordination.
  • Experience in budget preparation, quality improvement, and physician relationship management.
  • Ability to perform diversified duties with high accuracy under time constraints.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills to foster effective working relationships.
