Overview

  • Lead the accounting and finance functions for a dynamic real estate investment firm.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership on strategic financial decision-making and capital planning.
  • Oversee a team of accounting professionals across multiple locations.
  • Drive process optimization and implement scalable financial systems and controls.
  • Ensure compliance with REIT regulations and financial reporting standards.
  • Support the growth of the firm’s diverse real estate portfolio.
  • Provide insights and analysis for investor relations and decision-making.
  • Champion technology adoption to streamline finance operations.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Oversee accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, and financial statement preparation.
  • Lead financial reporting to investors and lenders, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Manage annual audits and collaborate with tax advisors for tax preparation.
  • Drive budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management processes.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff and third-party support teams.
  • Analyze property-level performance and oversee JV financials.
  • Implement enhancements in accounting systems and scalable processes.
  • Collaborate with development teams on construction draw requests and project cash flows.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in real estate.
  • Proven expertise in REIT compliance and financial reporting standards.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams across multiple locations.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems, with MRI software experience preferred.
  • Ability to analyze complex transactions and provide strategic financial insights.
  • Commitment to process optimization and technology adoption.
  • Excellent communication skills for investor relations and collaboration with senior leadership.
