Overview
- Provide exceptional care to residents in a long-term care facility as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
- Work closely with Registered Nurses and Clinical Care Managers to ensure patient safety and satisfaction.
- Perform charge nurse responsibilities as assigned, including supervising and guiding nursing staff.
- Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies in all nursing practices.
- Commit to rotating weekend shifts and a minimum of three shifts per week.
- Engage in professional development opportunities to enhance nursing skills and knowledge.
- Contribute to a collaborative and supportive work environment within the healthcare team.
- Participate in in-person interviews as part of the hiring process.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
- Monitor patient health and report changes to the Registered Nurse or Clinical Care Manager.
- Document patient care activities accurately and maintain medical records.
- Assist in developing and implementing individualized care plans for residents.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and their families.
- Ensure adherence to infection control protocols and safety standards.
- Supervise nursing assistants and other support staff during assigned shifts.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
Job Requirements
- Valid New York State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license.
- Completion of an approved practical nursing program.
- Basic Life Support (BCLS) and IV certification required.
- Minimum of one year of experience in long-term care settings.
- Experience working with geriatric populations preferred.
- Commitment to rotating weekend shifts and minimum weekly shift requirements.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Ability to work on-site and adhere to facility schedules and policies.
