Job Description

Overview

  • Provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to students with communication and learning challenges.
  • Work with students from preschool to middle school with diverse needs.
  • Focus on speech, pragmatic language, and autism-related communication issues.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Utilize augmentative systems, Visualizing and Verbalizing, and Social Thinking techniques.
  • Benefit from smaller caseloads for more direct therapy time.

  • Contribute to the development of innovative communication strategies.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct assessments to identify speech and language disorders in students.
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans tailored to student needs.
  • Provide direct therapy sessions focusing on speech and pragmatic language skills.
  • Collaborate with teachers and parents to support student progress.
  • Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions and student progress.
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss student development and strategies.
  • Stay updated on best practices and advancements in speech therapy.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on communication techniques.

Job Requirements

  • Master's degree in Speech Pathology, Speech and Hearing, or equivalent program.
  • Maryland Speech License or eligibility at the time of hire.
  • Experience with augmentative systems, Visualizing and Verbalizing, and Social Thinking techniques preferred.
  • Strong diagnostic and therapeutic skills for speech and language disorders.
  • Ability to work effectively with students of diverse needs and ages.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams.
