Overview
- Provide essential nursing care to individuals with developmental disabilities in a supportive environment.
- Coordinate medical care, monitor health needs, and ensure follow-up care.
- Assess health status through direct observation and evaluation of physical changes.
- Collaborate with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary teams for comprehensive care.
- Develop and update nursing plans and protocols tailored to individual needs.
- Supervise medication administration and conduct necessary training sessions.
- Participate in clinical reviews and ensure compliance with health regulations.
- Support dietary and nutritional needs, providing in-service training as required.
- Maintain infection control and manage medical supplies effectively.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Coordinate medical care and monitor health needs of assigned individuals.
- Assess health status through observation and evaluation of physical changes.
- Document findings and communicate with relevant parties for follow-up care.
- Supervise medication administration and conduct AMAP certification processes.
- Develop and update individual nursing plans and protocols.
- Monitor dietary and nutritional needs, providing training to support staff.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA mandates and infection control guidelines.
- Participate in clinical reviews and discharge planning meetings.
- Review incident reports and provide necessary follow-up actions.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and current RN license in New York State.
- CPR certification and experience with developmental disabilities preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Valid NY State or Tri-state area Driver's License preferred.
- Proficiency in developing individualized nursing plans and protocols.
- Knowledge of medication administration and compliance with health regulations.
- Experience in dietary and nutritional management for individuals served.
- Ability to handle urgent situations and provide effective follow-up care.
- Commitment to maintaining infection control and environmental safety.
