Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Upload biweekly payroll and allocate monthly benefits, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Perform monthly accrual entries and reconcile over 20 bank accounts to maintain financial accuracy.
- Update schedules for prepaid expenses, insurance, deferred rent, fixed assets, and other financial items.
- Prepare journal entries and analyze financial information for general ledger accounts.
- Handle month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities efficiently.
- Monitor funder payments and assist in annual and program-specific audits.
- Collaborate with teams to ensure compliance with accounting standards and deadlines.
- Utilize accounting software and Excel to optimize financial processes and reporting.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, with 7 years preferred.
- Solid understanding of accounting processes and procedures, including nonprofit accounting.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills, is essential.
- Experience with accounting software systems is highly desirable.
- Ability to compile and analyze financial information for accurate reporting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
