Overview

Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Perform wound care procedures, including cleaning, debridement, and dressing changes for chronic and acute wounds.
- Prescribe medications, including antibiotics and pain management solutions, adhering to legal and ethical standards.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests to inform treatment strategies and monitor healing progress.
- Collaborate with primary care providers and specialists to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
- Educate patients and families on wound care techniques, prevention methods, and lifestyle adjustments to support recovery.
- Utilize electronic medical records (EMR) systems for accurate documentation and communication of patient information.
- Implement innovative wound care products and technologies to optimize healing outcomes.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and refine care plans.
Job Requirements
- Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) with an active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license.
- Board Certification and DEA licensure are highly preferred for this role.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in adult, family, or geriatric care, with a focus on wound management.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and treating various wound types and etiologies.
- Familiarity with advanced wound care products, devices, and evidence-based practices.
- Comfortable working in long-term care settings and utilizing EMR systems for patient documentation.
- Strong preference for candidates with wound care certification or willingness to obtain certification.
