Overview

- Prescribe medications, including controlled substances, adhering to state regulations and best practices.
- Collaborate with primary care physicians and interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Utilize advanced wound care products and techniques to manage diverse wound types effectively.
- Diagnose and treat various wound conditions, including diabetic, arterial, and venous wounds.
- Communicate effectively with nursing home staff regarding patient conditions and care plans.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records using electronic medical record systems.
- Participate in interdisciplinary care teams to coordinate and optimize patient care outcomes.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Conduct thorough assessments and provide expert wound care for long-term care patients.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests, ensuring timely follow-up and treatment adjustments.
- Educate patients and caregivers on effective wound care management and prevention strategies.
- Utilize wound vacs and pressure-relieving devices to enhance patient recovery.
- Stage pressure injuries accurately following established clinical guidelines.
- Prescribe advanced wound care products tailored to individual patient needs.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective care plans.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards in all aspects of care delivery.
Job Requirements
- Doctorate of Nursing Practice (DNP) with specialization in adult, family, or geriatric care.
- Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Ohio.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in wound care; 3 years preferred.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, and venous wounds.
- Familiarity with advanced wound care products and techniques.
- Comfortable using electronic medical record systems for documentation and communication.
- Wound care certification strongly preferred or willingness to obtain certification.
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary care team environment.
