Job Description

Overview

  • Lead accounting operations for investment funds, general partnerships, and employee incentive vehicles in a dynamic, growth-oriented environment.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors to ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering development and operational excellence.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Coordinate financial reporting processes, including audits, tax preparation, and investor communications.
  • Contribute to budgeting and forecasting activities, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Participate in valuation and allocation committees, providing critical insights and recommendations.
  • Ensure confidentiality and integrity in all financial operations and reporting activities.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervise fund administrators to maintain accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and SEC standards.
  • Prepare and review financial statements, investor notices, and capital statements for investment funds.
  • Coordinate with legal and compliance teams to meet regulatory requirements and reporting deadlines.
  • Oversee treasury processes, ensuring efficient fund management and resource allocation.
  • Manage general partnership accounting, including expense reimbursements, accounts payable, and financial statement preparation.
  • Administer separately managed accounts, handling tax preparation, audits, and portfolio reporting.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
  • Train and mentor team members, fostering professional growth and collaboration.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting; CPA certification required or near completion.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in investment fund accounting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with SageIntacct, Bill.com, Carta, or iPaladin preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects effectively in a hybrid work environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in all operations.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% of working time as required.
