Overview
- Manage tax compliance across diverse real estate and family office structures, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulations.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to optimize tax strategies and processes for complex entity types.
- Provide expertise in real estate taxation, partnerships, and high-net-worth individual structures.
- Contribute to generational wealth planning and structuring considerations for new investments.
- Monitor evolving tax laws and assess their impact on organizational compliance and planning.
- Develop and maintain efficient tax processes and documentation from the ground up.
- Support quarterly estimates, year-end reporting, and tax provisions for all entities.
- Ensure timely compliance with filing deadlines across multiple jurisdictions.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax filings for partnerships, RE entities, and K-1s.
- Coordinate with external advisors to ensure compliance and efficiency in tax matters.
- Maintain tax workpapers, documentation, and support schedules across entities.
- Partner with accounting, finance, and investment teams for accurate tax treatment of transactions.
- Assist with tax planning initiatives, including structuring considerations for new investments.
- Monitor and assess implications of evolving tax laws on investments and family office structures.
- Support tax compliance and planning for trusts, estates, and high-net-worth individuals.
- Ensure timely compliance with filing deadlines across multiple entity types and jurisdictions.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 6–10+ years of experience in tax compliance and planning, preferably in real estate.
- Experience with family office, trusts, estates, and high-net-worth individuals preferred.
- CPA certification strongly preferred.
- Public accounting background with real estate clients is advantageous.
- Ability to operate in a lean environment and build processes from the ground up.
- Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations affecting real estate and family office structures.
- Proficiency in managing complex tax filings and compliance across multiple jurisdictions.
