Job Description

Overview

  • Provide comprehensive administrative and transactional support to attorneys specializing in commercial real estate matters.
  • Ensure smooth execution of real estate transactions, including due diligence, contract management, and closings.
  • Maintain and organize case files, ensuring accessibility and proper documentation for all legal matters.
  • Coordinate meetings, appointments, and deadlines to support attorneys' schedules and client engagements.
  • Assist with proofreading and preparation of legal documents, including purchase agreements, leases, and closing binders.
  • Collaborate with clients, lenders, and opposing counsel to facilitate transactions effectively.
  • Contribute to a dynamic and fast-paced legal environment with opportunities for professional growth.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Proofread and prepare legal documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal standards.
  • Manage case files, ensuring proper organization and accessibility for attorneys and clients.
  • Coordinate closing logistics, including scheduling, signature collection, and document distribution.
  • Assist attorneys with post-closing activities, including preparation of closing binders and final documentation.
  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, appointments, and deadlines to support legal operations.
  • Maintain attorney calendars, expense reports, and bar memberships for efficient workflow management.
  • E-file pleadings in state and federal courts in Maryland, DC, and Virginia as needed.
  • Collaborate with clients, lenders, title companies, and opposing counsel to facilitate seamless transactions.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of administrative support experience in real estate or transactional legal practice.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, and document management software.
  • Strong understanding of real estate transactions and related documentation.
  • Experience with e-filing pleadings in state and federal courts.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a client-focused approach.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
