Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Manage audit engagements, including planning, staffing, and execution, ensuring compliance with GAAP and industry standards.
- Evaluate internal controls and prepare work programs and budgets for client engagements.
- Review financial statements, management letters, and tax returns, ensuring accuracy and adherence to regulations.
- Train and mentor team members, providing constructive feedback and guidance on professional development.
- Monitor engagement budgets and communicate with principals regarding time and resource allocation.
- Assist clients with entity selection, software implementation, and strategic financial planning.
- Stay updated on legislative and professional changes, advising clients on implications and opportunities.
- Participate in business development activities to expand client base and promote firm services.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field; CPA designation required.
- Minimum of 5 years of public accounting experience in audit/assurance services.
- Strong GAAP accounting background and understanding of cash basis tax accounting.
- Experience in healthcare and continuing care communities preferred.
- Knowledge of HUD, cost reporting, and GAGAS is advantageous.
- Proficiency in accounting and auditing software; experience with single audits is a plus.
- Excellent research, writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
- Ability to lead and supervise teams effectively, ensuring engagement success.
