Overview

  • Lead pharmacy operations in a hospital setting, ensuring compliance with regulations and optimal patient care.
  • Oversee procurement, storage, and distribution of pharmaceuticals to various hospital departments.
  • Develop and implement medication management strategies to enhance patient safety and treatment outcomes.
  • Collaborate with nursing and physician teams to ensure seamless pharmaceutical support.
  • Maintain pharmacy inventory levels and ensure efficient stock management.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff and provide leadership in daily operations.
  • Ensure compliance with Texas Board of Pharmacy regulations and hospital policies.
  • Support offsite departments with pharmaceutical needs and emergency medication supplies.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Manage pharmacy operations, including medication preparation, dispensing, and distribution.
  • Oversee procurement processes to ensure availability of required pharmaceuticals.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient medication regimens.
  • Ensure compliance with aseptic techniques and regulatory standards.
  • Supervise and mentor pharmacy staff, fostering professional growth and development.

Job Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required; B.S. Pharmacy accepted with relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of pharmacy leadership experience in a hospital setting.
  • Texas Board of Pharmacy licensure required.
  • Certification in aseptic technique within one year of employment.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical procurement, storage, and distribution processes.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with healthcare teams.
  • Ability to manage and mentor pharmacy staff effectively.
