Network Engineer

Overview

• Contribute to the administration and operation of global network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and security.
• Support hybrid cloud environments across AWS and Azure, focusing on lifecycle management and automation.
• Engage in network engineering tasks, including implementation, maintenance, and upgrades of routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Participate in infrastructure projects, collaborating with team members to enhance workflows and reliability.
• Maintain accurate documentation for network and platform components, ensuring compliance with established standards.
• Assist with implementing security tools and policies aligned with organizational security standards.
• Contribute to the design and architecture of network solutions, growing technical expertise over time.
• Participate in a 24×7 on-call rotation to ensure continuous operational support.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Monitor network systems, respond to incidents, and perform root cause analysis for corrective actions.
• Administer and manage Cisco routers, switches, Meraki devices, and Palo Alto firewalls.
• Support LAN, MAN, WAN, and Internet connectivity under established standards and designs.
• Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, and security updates, including patches and firmware upgrades.
• Administer wireless connectivity using Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers and related technologies.
• Assist with procurement, installation, and decommissioning of networking hardware.
• Collaborate with team members to improve operational workflows and reliability.
• Implement security tools, policies, and configurations to maintain network security standards.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in network engineering and hybrid cloud environments.
• Proficiency with Palo Alto Firewalls, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), and Cisco networking technologies.
• Experience with AWS and Azure administration and VMware vCenter/ESXi.
• Strong problem-solving skills and dedication to customer service.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and travel to remote datacenters as needed.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Willingness to learn and continuously improve technical skills.
