Job Description

Overview

  • Lead operational and functional responsibilities for patient care areas and initiatives.
  • Supervise and direct care activities ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Analyze and evaluate care provided, implementing effective orientation and education programs.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and organizational policies.
  • Support organizational mission and goals through leadership and improvement activities.
  • Provide 24-hour accountability for assigned areas of oversight.
  • Act as a resource for staff, ensuring effective communication and problem resolution.
  • Represent the organization at external meetings and community outreach programs.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Lead, direct, and manage operations of assigned departments.
  • Set goals, priorities, and staffing levels aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Supervise orientation, education, and competency validation of personnel.
  • Ensure effective communication within departments for goal dissemination and feedback.
  • Participate in safety programs to enhance staff and patient safety.
  • Delegate tasks effectively, providing clear explanations and accountability.
  • Provide performance improvement leadership, assessing processes and implementing solutions.
  • Develop systems for soliciting feedback from customers and report results to management.
  • Participate in strategic planning, budgeting, and initiatives supporting organizational goals.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; advanced degrees preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of executive-level nursing experience; 5 years preferred.
  • Proven leadership and managerial skills in healthcare settings.
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards including Title 22, OSHA, and Joint Commission requirements.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills to foster teamwork and motivation.
  • Ability to analyze and implement performance improvement initiatives.
  • Experience in strategic planning and budget management.
  • Commitment to professional development and maintaining certifications.
  • Willingness to work on-site and represent the organization externally.
