Job Description

Overview

  • Lead the Perioperative Services Department, ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to nursing standards.
  • Supervise nursing staff and paramedical activities, fostering professional development and maintaining compliance with regulations.
  • Develop and implement departmental policies, procedures, and budgets to optimize operations and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate patient care during perioperative phases, ensuring safety and effective communication among teams.
  • Monitor and evaluate nursing care quality, implementing improvements and maintaining compliance with healthcare standards.
  • Provide leadership in performance improvement initiatives, fostering a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
  • Ensure proper sterilization and storage of surgical instruments, maintaining infection control protocols.
  • Collaborate with senior management on strategic planning, resource allocation, and departmental development.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Supervise and direct nursing care activities within the perioperative area, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain departmental policies, ensuring staff compliance and effective communication of updates.
  • Lead staff orientation, training, and evaluations, fostering professional growth and maintaining competency.
  • Monitor departmental budget and resource allocation, collaborating with senior management for strategic planning.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, including Title 22, OSHA, and JCAHO requirements.
  • Coordinate patient care during perioperative phases, ensuring safety and proper documentation.

Job Requirements

  • Master of Science in Nursing degree required, demonstrating advanced knowledge in nursing practices.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in perioperative nursing or related managerial roles.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage nursing teams in a hospital setting.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory standards, including Title 22, OSHA, and JCAHO.
