Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Review patient medical histories and physician orders, preparing for and scheduling imaging procedures.
- Educate patients on nuclear medicine procedures, ensuring their comfort and understanding throughout the process.
- Administer radiopharmaceuticals, managing their storage, disposal, and compliance with safety standards.
- Monitor patient conditions during imaging procedures, responding promptly to any changes or concerns.
- Prepare and calibrate imaging equipment, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues as needed.
- Perform imaging procedures with precision, ensuring optimal positioning and exposure settings for accurate results.
- Analyze and document imaging results, addressing quality concerns and ensuring compliance with reporting standards.
- Adhere to safety protocols, conducting regular equipment maintenance and quality control checks.
Job Requirements
- Completion of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technologist program, demonstrating foundational knowledge and skills.
- Certification as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) or ARRT certification in nuclear medicine.
- State licensure as required by law, ensuring compliance with regional regulations.
- BLS certification through AHA or ARC CPR for the Professional Rescuer.
- Proficiency in radiopharmaceutical management and operation of advanced imaging equipment.
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
