Job Description

Overview

  • Provide case management services to domestic violence victims within the family court system.
  • Offer crisis intervention, emotional support, and advocacy for clients facing abuse and victimization.
  • Assist clients with navigating family court processes and obtaining legal reliefs like Orders of Protection.
  • Coordinate with shelters and other services for client relocation and housing needs.
  • Provide emergency practical assistance including transportation, food vouchers, and financial aid.
  • Maintain accurate case records and statistics for program tracking and reporting.
  • Participate in internal and external meetings, workshops, and training sessions.
  • Work collaboratively with court personnel and legal professionals to advocate for clients.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Conduct safety planning and risk assessments for clients facing domestic violence situations.
  • Provide information and guidance on family court procedures and available legal reliefs.
  • Advocate with court personnel and the criminal justice system on behalf of clients.
  • Assist clients with relocation, housing, and accessing shelter services as needed.
  • Offer practical assistance including financial aid, transportation, and emergency resources.
  • Maintain thorough and accurate case records for program documentation and reporting.
  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance service delivery.
  • Collaborate with team members and external organizations to support client needs.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience required.
  • Understanding of domestic violence dynamics and victimization processes.
  • Experience working with survivors of domestic violence in social service settings.
  • Knowledge of family court and criminal justice systems preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is desirable.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills required.
  • Proficiency in computer applications for case documentation and reporting.
  • Ability to independently manage tasks while contributing to team efforts.
