Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in the orthopedic med/surg unit during 12-hour night shifts.
  • Monitor patient conditions, administer medications, and perform necessary treatments as prescribed.
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Educate patients and families about post-treatment care and health management strategies.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices.
  • Support a culture of safety and excellence within the healthcare team.
  • Utilize advanced nursing skills and certifications to provide specialized care in a critical access hospital setting.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; advanced degrees preferred.
  • Unrestricted RN license in Colorado or eligibility to obtain prior to start.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience; 3 years preferred.
  • Certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PEARS are required; advanced certifications preferred.
  • Proficiency with EPIC systems and bilingual Spanish skills are advantageous.
  • Strong knowledge of orthopedic med/surg nursing practices and protocols.
  • Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
