Job Description

Overview

  • Lead tax preparation and review processes for complex corporate, partnership, and individual filings in a hybrid work environment.
  • Conduct in-depth tax research, identify issues, and draft technical memos with recommended solutions.
  • Interface with clients to gather data, ensure timely filings, and communicate findings and updates effectively.
  • Review preparer workpapers and tax returns for accuracy, compliance, and adherence to deadlines.
  • Train and mentor junior staff, providing guidance and support for professional growth.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and oversee the work of junior team members to ensure quality and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive tax and advisory services.
  • Contribute to the growth of a dynamic mid-sized practice offering diverse financial services.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

  • Prepare and review complex tax filings for corporate, partnership, and individual clients.
  • Conduct tax research, identify issues, and draft technical memos with actionable solutions.
  • Interface with clients to gather necessary data and provide status updates.
  • Ensure timely and accurate filing of tax returns, meeting all compliance requirements.
  • Review junior staff workpapers and returns for accuracy and adherence to standards.
  • Train and mentor junior staff, fostering professional development and skill enhancement.
  • Delegate tasks and oversee team operations to ensure efficiency and quality.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to provide comprehensive tax and advisory services.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in tax preparation and review; 8 years preferred.
  • Proficiency in tax research and technical memo drafting.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate, partnership, and individual tax regulations.
  • Experience mentoring and training junior staff in a professional setting.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines in a hybrid work environment.
  • Excellent communication skills for client interfacing and team collaboration.
  • Familiarity with diverse financial services including advisory and wealth management.
